There is very little known about George except that in the census of 1860, he was twelve years old. In 1889, 1904 and 1916, he was living in Auburn, Nebraska in Nemaha County. Earlier he had gone to California, with his brother, James. They both taught school there, but later George moved to Nemaha County in Nebraska, where two of his sisters lived. He did some farming and also was in the real estate and investment business.
